CrossFit Just Announces 2024 Semifinals Locations

CrossFit has just disclosed long-awaited information concerning the locations and timetable of the 2024 CrossFit Games Semifinals. While the Semifinals will still be hosted in the same seven regions as the previous year, there's a notable shift in collaboration. Unlike the preceding season, CrossFit has entered into partnerships with event organizers for all regions, extending beyond Asia, South America, Africa, and Oceania.
In this announcement, CrossFit outlined that the Semifinals event would feature the participation of the top 40 individual men and women, along with the top 30 teams from each region, vying for a coveted spot at the Games. This represents a significant departure from the previous year when the Semifinals competition included the top 60 individual men and women from North America East, North America West, and Europe. Additionally, specific events for age-group and adaptive athletes are scheduled to take place from May 8-13.
Some Key Details
Similar to the previous year, CrossFit will program the Semifinals, ensuring consistency across all seven regions (Europe, Asia, Oceania, North America West, North America East, South America, and Africa).
CrossFit will use a strength-of-field calculation to determine the total number of qualifying positions for the Games, with each region having a minimum number of qualifying spots.

Europe Semifinal by French Throwdown

Asia Semifinal by Far East Throwdown

Week 2 (May 24-26, 2024)
Oceania Semifinal by Torian Pro
- Location: Pat Rafter Arena, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

North America West Semifinal by West Coast Classic
- Location: Dignity Health Center Carson, California, United States

Week 3 (May 31- June 2, 2024)
North America East Semifinal by Syndicate Crown
- Location: Thompson-Boling Arena, Knoxville, Tennessee, United States

South America Semifinal by Copa Sur

It's worth noting that this year's announcement comes a bit earlier than the previous season, where the details were revealed on December 20. However, as of now, the rulebook for the 2024 CrossFit season has not been released. Historically, CrossFit HQ has unveiled the rulebook as early as November 15.
